Kamatics Corporation, a subsidiary of Kaman Corporation, located in Bloomfield CT, is a leader in the design and manufacture of high technology mechanical products, such as self-lubricated bearings and driveline couplings, used in aviation, marine, hydropower and other industrial applications.
Currently we have an opening for a Application Engineer - The Main Responsibilities are as follows:

• Creates self-lubricating bearings and flexible driveshaft designs and proposal drawings using Computer Aided Drawing (CAD) programs to meet customer requirements within quality, cost and timeline expectations.
• Creates test plans and/or test reports for planned or completed in-house bearing tests, as required.
• Consults with Sales on product requirements. Assists Sales with presentations or may create technical presentations for use by Sales personnel. Delivers formal technical presentations or has face-to-face discussions with internal and external customer on detail design and product issues.
• Develops project plans and executes short to mid term projects dealing with customer specific product development activities and/or new product development projects.
• Contacts suppliers to obtain technical and cost information on materials and capabilities. Produces cost estimates for new design proposal for use by Sales.

MINIMUM EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• BS degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical/Metallurgy/Civil Engineering.
• 1 to 3 years in mechanical design, working with close tolerances in a manufacturing environment with Computer Aided Design experience with 3-D solids and assemblies programs.
• Unigraphics experience required.Finite Elements Analysis (FEA) experience is a plus.
